I believe in the internal work of a person.  That it should be gentle and rigorous.

We are all in stories of struggle.  We strive to find a kind of oneness with ourselves and our loved ones.  We fight for the things that mean the most to us.

I have been in practice for 10 years and have prioritized training in well researched therapies. I started out in crisis work helping at-risk-youth and families in the western suburbs of Chicago then gradually moved into private practice. I soon took up specialization as I saw the need for deep and effective psychotherapy.  I believe in the power of restoration in relationships, and in addressing the mental and emotional effects of trauma so that a person's natural healing can move forward.

My focus is couples and men.

Therapies I practice:

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT, EFCT for couples)  Facilitates the understanding of emotion and uses emotion and emotional experiencing for healing and connection.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)  A remarkable treatment for trauma which can effectively reduce and eliminate symptoms associated with distressing memories within a few sessions.  It is also effective as a psychotherapy intervention for common disorders.  EMDR assists rapid processing within your memory network and can desensitize unwanted and intrusive images and feelings. It can also re-wire unhelpful brain pathways and restore healthy beliefs and thought patterns.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)  Helps with understanding the various internal parts of you that make up who you are and what you do.  It is a great way to get acquainted with and organize your internal world.  This method can help you develop clarity and confidence about what is happening inside you from day to day and moment to moment.

Cognitive Behavioral Theory (CBT A reliable foundation for all therapeutic work.  It focuses on tracing thought distortions that come from unconscious beliefs.  Changing beliefs and automatic thought patterns can bring about new ways of being and behaving.
