Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (EFT) is a method of counselling that focuses on identifying the patterns that keep you stuck, and helps overcome those through connection. 

 

Imagine finding warmth and closeness in the very areas that currently cause fear, anger, and hopelessness.

 

Some EFT facts:  

 

  • People are emotion.  Everything that happens inside your skin makes you feel something whether you notice it or not.  Feelings contain information.

  • You are emotionally dependent on each other.  Everything your partner does makes you feel something.  

 

  • We all react to our feelings.  Sometimes we close up and withdraw.  Other times we speak out.  Disconnection and fights are often a confusing mess of reactions.

​

  • A different experience is possible.  Knowing what is happening in those painful times, and finding a new way, can give you a new future together.

​

  • Hurts, injuries and betrayals can be overcome through a repair process.

​

  • Being open and willing to explore difficult things is essential.
